Sacha is an experienced teacher and can help you reach your drumming goals, no matter what your preferred style of music or drumming. He'll teach you how to hit real loud and play real soft, blazingly fast to stupidly slow. He'll teach you the basics of rock and jazz drumming and take you deep into the world of the infectious Brazilian and Afro-Cuban rhythms. He'll show you how to improve your reading, technique and master drum rudiments in a practical and musical way.

Above all Sacha will use his love of the instrument to help you transform your passion for drumming into something you can actually express through your playing, helping your inner creative voice reach it's full potential through your music.

Private Drum Lessons in Brisbane

Sacha gives one-to-one drum lessons to private students at an inner-city studio in Brisbane, Australia.
All private drum lessons are one hour in duration and are taught on one drum kit. All you need to bring to the lesson is a pair of sticks (and brushes if you own a pair) and an A4 plastic folder for organizing lesson print-outs (alternatively you may have lesson materials emailed to you or copied to a USB drive). Students are encouraged to bring in CDs or USB drives with music they are currently listening to or learning, and the more questions you come prepared with, the more answers you will walk out with. Sacha is here to guide you but lessons are worth very little without practice, so students are expected to revise at home any material covered during their lessons.

Webcam Video Lessons on Skype/FaceTime

Sacha is now offering exclusive video lessons via webcam using Skype or FaceTime.
All webcam video lessons are 30 minutes in duration and are conducted via Sacha's laptop or iPad using the built-in mic (and not a professional microphone setup). This means Skype/FaceTime lessons will only be delivered on a practice pad setup at this time. Students will benefit most from webcam lessons if they have prepared at least 3 questions or topics that they want Sacha to deal with. Students are also encouraged to be seated at their drum kit/practice pad during the lesson, but it is not a requirement.
Sacha is looking into facilitating full drum kit lessons in the future if the demand is sufficient.

"The Fine Print"

Terms & Conditions for Private One-to-One Drum Lessons:
1. All private lessons are one hour in duration.
2. All prepaid lessons must be claimed within 30 days of date of payment. (When pre-paying for multiple lessons, this means the first lesson should begin within 30 days).
3. 24 hours notice must be given for all lesson cancellations else lesson fee is forfeited.
4. No refunds given except in the case that your lesson is cancelled by Sacha with less than 24 hours notice.
5. Lessons occur strictly inside the 60-minute period agreed on in the booking confirmation and will finish on time regardless of the student arriving late.
6. Practice is important - if a student does not practice at home the material given to them during a lesson, they may be asked to practice it during the following lesson!

Terms & Conditions for Skype/FaceTime Lessons:
1. All Skype/FaceTime lessons are 30 minutes in duration.
2. All Skype/FaceTime lessons are prepaid and must be claimed within 30 days of date of payment. (When pre-paying for multiple lessons, this means the first lesson should begin within 30 days).
3. 24 hours notice must be given for all lesson cancellations else lesson fee is forfeited.
4. No refunds given except in the case that your lesson is cancelled by Sacha with less than 24 hours notice.
5. Lessons occur strictly inside the 30-minute period agreed on in the booking confirmation and will finish on time regardless of the student arriving late or experiencing connection problems. Please test your Skype/FaceTime connection before making a payment or booking.
6. A broadband internet connection is required. Please be aware of the data usage rates for Skype and FaceTime to avoid excessive charges from your internet service provider.
7. A computer/tablet/handset with microphone is required as a minimum (video capability preferred).
8. Due to the technical limitations of Skype/FaceTime lessons, expect to see Sacha delivering the lesson on a practice pad only.
